紀駿傑 Chun-Chieh Chi

Professor, Department of Ethnic Relations and Cultures,

National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan

 

Professor Chun-Chieh Chi received his MA and Ph.D. from SUNY at Buffalo, USA; he currently teaches at the Department of Ethnic Relations and Culture and serves as head of the Indigenous Culture and Communication Center in National Dong-Hwa University. He was an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology in Tulsa University, USA (1991-1995); visiting researcher at Graduate Institute of Sociology and Anthropology in National Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan (1994-1996); Visiting fellow at Department of Anthropology and Sociology in UBC, Canada (2000-2001); Fulbright visiting researcher at Native American Studies Department in University of New Mexico, USA (2009/09-2012/02); Chairperson of Graduate Institute of Ethnic Relations and Culture (2006-09), and Chairperson of Department of Indigenous Languages and Communication (2010-2012) in National Dong-Hwa University, Taiwan (2006-2009). His main research interests include indigenous studies, environmental sociology, and ethnic relations. In recent years, he conducted funded research on issues related to indigenous land rights, indigenous people and natural environment, and Taiwan environmental issues, with publications in the forms of several co-authored books, and many journal articles in both Chinese and English; most recent ones appeared in GeoJournal and Asia Pacific Viewpoint.
